Heritage Flight
The Heritage Flight was practicing out of Davis-Monthan AFB last weekend and we had a front row seat while playing softball at Freedom Park on Sunday morning. Here, an F-4, P-51, F-15 and A-10 fly over the field in formation. This image was taken at 300mm focal length with an exposure of 1/400 seconds at f/9, ISO 100.

Phantom head on
Here's another view of the F-4 Phantom. Notice that the wingtips are folded up - a space saver on a aircraft carrier with limited storage space. This image was taken at 28mm focal length with an exposure of 1/25 seconds at f/4.5, ISO 400.

Phantom of the skies
This F4 Phantom flew off the USS Ranger and might have engaged a MiG like the one that sits right next to it. One of its engines sites outside the jet. This image was taken at 18mm focal length with an exposure of 1/60 seconds at f/4.5, ISO 400.

Phantom inbound for landing
This QF-4 Phantom of Vietnam vintage is on final into Davis Monthan AFB after participating in the Heritage Flight practice last Saturday. The plane's markings put it from Holloman AFB in New Mexico. it is flying in front of Mt. Bigelow in the Catalina Mountains in this view from west of the base. This image was taken at 300mm focal length with an exposure of 1/200 seconds at f/10, ISO 200.
