While wandering campus, I took this picture (exactly 1 week before this post is published!). This image was taken at 300mm focal length with an exposure of 1/4000 seconds at f/8, ISO 400, converted to sepia in Picasa.
It's in the Student Union on the south side of the clock tower south of the bookstore. It was recovered from the USS Arizona after the Arizona was sunk by the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor.
The USS Arizona was a battleship. You can see pictures and things in the display in the Union. Very impressive and humbling to consider the loss of life at Pearl Harbor. If you ever get the chance to visit Hawaii and Honolulu, make sure to visit Pearl Harbor. The ship sank there and is still there with a memorial over the remains.

BTW, there's a really nice historical display about the Arizona in the Student Union on the ground floor directly beneath the clock and bell.
I saw the bell today, amazing that I never noticed before.
