Lichen growing on a boulder was a fun macro target. I had to keep the lens wide open in the dim light since I had not brought my tripod along, so the depth of field is quite shallow looking across the lichen and rock face. The light green color of the lichen is not very obvious in this image. This image was taken with my 70-300mm zoom lens in macro mode at 190mm focal length (at about 1:3 macro) on my 20D. The exposure was 1/250 seconds at f/5.6, ISO 800.
