Waimea Harbor
Looking upsun across Waimea Harbor where Captain James Cook landed on Kaua'i in January 1778. The mouth of the Waimea River was behind me when I took this shot across the black sand beach. You can see the pier in the harbor in the distance. This image was taken at 18mm focal length with a circular polarizer with an exposure of 1/1600 seconds at f/5.6, ISO 400.

Dude! You need to get a grad ND filter - that sky is pretty blown and the forground is underexposed! :-) Nice shot.
Yeah, an grad ND filter would have allowed me to see both a little better, but the sand was really dark and the sky was really bright!
