Saturn V F-1 engine

The huge F-1 engine generated about 1.5 million pounds of thrust in the S-IC first stage of the Saturn V rocket. 5 of them worked together to generate more than 7.5 million pounds of thrust to get the huge stack moving. This is a closeup of one of the 5 F-1 engines on display in the Saturn V center. This image was taken with the kit lens on my 20D at 55mm focal length with an exposure of 1/160 seconds at f/5.6, ISO 800. Posted by Picasa
